Looks good Jerry! I agree the 60’ angle looks better. If you did more of a notch at the wedge end instead of a v cut out they wouldn’t be able to fall flat and put a piece at each end so the stands can’t fall to one side or the other. It is coming along nicely, can’t wait to see the finished project.

I was planning on a piece across both end to stablize it. This was just to mock up what i was thinking. The notch might work out better than a V cut. Thanks for that idea. Working with small pieces of wood with many cuts on a table saw is tough. Might have to cut out the real stuff with hand tools. Wish i had a band saw.
I was also thinking i might need a filler piece on the wedge side to keep them from sliding out that end and coming out of the rack. Not that there should be any side to side movement. Id rather not put any more in than needed.
Thanks all!It's just Sharpening, right?

OK ,Jerry. I think I got a good idea for max capacity, and similar to mine. But looking at your pics. I believe you could build it this way, with three strips of wood ( hence the black lines in the pic. The angle of the razors will depend on the width of the drawer.

Another thing to consider on the wrench racks, Jerry.
Lots I see out there get progressively smaller and smaller for wrenches going down in size.
The ones I use are from Snap-on and all notches are the same size.
Pricing is not bad as compared to others as well.
OH! They are red.....Just saying!

Something red, from Snap-on? No. I dont believe ya. Ha. I thought about those wrench racks as i use them in my tool box and i just cant see using plastic. Its a great idea and i love the way they angle back. That why i made my mock-up rack angled.
I like the idea Mike. I'll have to think about that and lay them out. See how they fit. Being the drawer is 8 1/4 inches wide that might work. Plus i think id still like to angle them.
Thanks for the help in ideas. This has become more than i thought it would. But the double row does look cool. It's just Sharpening, right?

Laid it out before i ran out the door for work. Dont think its going to get me any more razors in a drawer.
Bummer. It is a cool idea.
I might still go looking for a low cost wrench rack. After all the work making racks, the plastic might be worth it. Id need 24 of them. Well maybe only 12 for now.Last edited by Gasman; 01-12-2018 at 09:17 AM.

I took another look at your drawing Mike. Looks like the tangs will be on seporate sections on the center board. As if maybe double think board. It might work still. Need to lay it out again and see how much angle that would be.

Now your steppin in it.
The two spaces left in each front corners could hold a DE or possibly a shorty.Mike

I figured they would go with the red fabric! They also come in black for smaller wrenches, but I have used both with razors.
Angling as you wish could be easy. As you get them filled, you won't see much of them.
Something I used them for a while back. Some 7-day boxes with spare scales in the bottom...
Anyway....Get it on. Will wait to see what you come up with!Last edited by sharptonn; 01-12-2018 at 04:00 PM.

Those look great. And a nice touch covering with the fabric. I was just giving you crap on the red. But as you say, the felt is red.
