Ineligible ???!!!
The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

This explains so much for me. I just found this thread today,(which is hard to believe in the first place since i check in at least twice a day) I was not aware of such a super moon phenomena. As I think back over the past few weeks so many anomalous shaving events have taken place.
It all started with the inability to hone a couple of razors that should have been a breeze (i almost gave up and went back to using a DE). Then, last week i found a beautiful green Escher hone for a amazing price (in the wild). This kind of thing just does not happen. As i used it on the aforementioned razors, I felt confident of success. Apparently the moon also effects Escher hones as the edge was gentle and left a BBS shave, but must have stimulated hair growth as the shave didn't last. Felt growth the next morning and a shadow by the end of the day.(This doesn't happen normally).
Then to top it all off, the SWMBO said we could take our time on a weekend trip to visit our son and stop at some antique stores on the way!
Coincidence? I don't think so. There is no other explanation than the Super-Moon Eclipse Phenomena (SMEP)Last edited by tintin; 07-16-2018 at 09:29 PM.

I brought this conversation up before work in our break room. Tony said that he noticed a big difference depending on the moon. He has mapped his beard and has noticed that it changes depending on the phase of the moon.
The only way that he has found to cure this is to use a Carbo Magnetic razor to overcome the moons attraction and align his hairs properly.
I take his view with a grain of salt.
We nick named him Walking Eagle because he is so full of sh!# he can't fly....

I think one of the things this contest is showing is how many crazy folk we have on this site.
Maybe the prize should be a straightjacket, your choice of color.

Back in the 20's 1920's that is I went a little crazy one full moon and ended up in the state hospital. I needed a job and a sponsor to get myself out.
A friend was a cook for a lumber mill and since things were tight and they had no money to pay her they gave her a log for her pay check.
Good for firewood but but when they went to cut it it dulled the saw blades immediately. Interesting enough it was the lower log or bottom of the tree. It grew next to a river and every year in the spring when it flooded it added sand etc. to the bark. That made the wood abrasive as it grew into the tree.
My friend couldn't figure out what to do with it so she sponsored me and paid me with room and board to figure it out.
It was slow going but I used wedges to split it lengthwise and then laid it on the railroad tracks at night to have the train wheels cut it into sections. I couldn't do that during a full moon because they would see the boards!
She made a fortune and I made my room and board along with my freedom.
The humidity in that area must have rotted them out long ago but if you ever find a hone marked Washington Wonder that seems to have a wood grain you have a unique piece of history!

I am very sorry Spendur. I know i ain't eligible for a prize but there is a witch that keeps whispering in my ears to reply to your thread before she will break her spell. Hearing voices makes me feel I am going crazy. So this is therapeutic.
Saw a witch fly by when we had Red Moon last night:
Woke up this morning and found I looked like Catweazle:
Took out my battle axe:
Honed it on my largest hone: a 7x2 1/2 Hohenzollern and added some witchdust that she had left on my pillow to the slurry for a supadupa wickedly sharp edge and started shaving:
Here I am: still bewitched but clean shaven, hoping she will break her spell on me soon:
