I know. Isn't it amazing? They really pack in the shaving gear. "Right and Tight" as my British friend used to say. Every square inch of space that is dedicated to wet shaving is indeed used as properly as they can. No wasted space at all. Want shaving soap? They seemingly have hundreds to choose from. Razors/Blades? Hundreds. Brushes? Hundreds. Sure, it may not be in the hundreds for everything, but it seems that way to the eye. It's shaving nirvana for many of us.
I'm planning on a 2-3 hour visit taking my sweet time and looking at everything twice - maybe three times. I'll probably go on a Wednesday morning around 10:30 Ish when they should not be busy at all, and staying there until 1 pm ish.
What to buy? WHO KNOWS! That's the fun. When there, you are the proverbial kid in a candy store."I get some lather and lather-up, then I get my razor and shave! Zip Zop, see that? My face Is ripped to shreads!"

I hear that. And 40 years ago, that may have been true.
I was born in NY City and grew up close by. In the 70s, yes. I probably would not even consider going to Manhattan after dark and walking the streets. But the city has changed big time. When I was a kid, there was NO WAY you would sit in Times Square with your kids and enjoy a slice of NY Pizza with a Coke at 10:00 at night. You just wouldn't be that crazy. Now? NO PROBLEM. Things changed big time when Giuliani took office. At least, that's the way it seemed to me. The city cleaned up fast and the vibe of the city became more uplifting.
It's still a huge city and you can't be stupid in what you do. I mean, if you are going to walk down 42nd street turning into dark alleys with 100 dollar bills hanging out of your pockets, you are tempting fate. But it's that way in every major city world wide. I still love New York. Especially these days."I get some lather and lather-up, then I get my razor and shave! Zip Zop, see that? My face Is ripped to shreads!"

Gentlemen:
I have not forgotten about my trip to Pasteur's in NY. Just postponed. I believe I'll get there tomorrow (Thursday) and will report after that. Been busier than expected here in the BIG APPLE. Visited the 9/11 memorial and museum. Definitely worth your time if you are ever in lower Manhattan. Also went up to the observation deck and had lunch at the new Freedom Tower. Good grief is THAT building sky high. Loved it. Their tag line is "See Forever" and you believe you can when you are up there.
Pasteur's visit, pics and report to follow soon.

Thanked: 315Sounds like an interesting place to visit. Never been to NY. When TSA smells all the soaps, cologne, and AS in your bag, they will probably get a dog to check for any drugs you might be hiding.

Indeed Joshua. I will have to check a bag with all the aftershave/cologne. Can't take that on board. Neither can you take the blades. Only bought a few. The brushes and soaps, no problem, but I'll check those as well. I brought a big bag with lots of padding to carry the stuff back.

Here is TODAY'S haul. I'll buy more in subsequent trips.
You notice I have TWO Excursion soaps and TWO 1912 Union Square soaps. This is because I got extra for some lucky guys here. More news on this giveaway later. For now, just enjoy the pics. I'll upload my videos to Youtube and post them here later today.

Nice haul....Honestly, I would get confused by the sheer variety.
If you go in not knowing what you wanted, it would be hard to pick, it would seem!
