Leon, the owner of Pasteur's is a prince among men. No matter HOW busy the man is, he comes out from behind the pharmacy counter and says hello, poses for pics, and talks wet shaving. He's not only the owner, but he KNOWS his STUFF when it comes to product!
The best buy in brushes he has in the store is this Rocket 26mm Synth. It's just under $13. I had to pick one up.

Thanked: 81drool! Last time I was in NYC was before I was into wet shaving. I guess now I have yet another reason to go back!

Leon makes incredible use of space. Store square footage in Manhattan is EXTREMELY expensive. For the space Leon has at Pasteur's, he uses every square inch. Make sure you check end-caps, and hanging displays for blades, etc. You have to look UP and DOWN. The place is packed with goodies.
You really have to keep your eye open and take off the blinders. Use your peripheral vision!

Thanked: 315I was expecting something much MUCH smaller. That is crazy. Nice looking brush. I haven't used a good synthetic yet, but it is on my list. Looks like they have a huge variety of EVERYTHING.
They could put the entire contents of a "The Art of Shaving" store on one fixture!!- Joshua

Here is a quick Video of the wet shaving section that I shot for you guys today. Not all of it, but much of it.

Leon (the owner) and I were discussing this. We both like Synth. They are just too easy, and if you get a good one, it's just too easy to fall in love with it. This Rocket Brush is AMAZING for the price. I also bought that Omega for travel, but the rocket will go in my shave den.

There is some truth to this my good man. I have a friend that is really into fishing. He can't go to Cabela's for fishing gear because it just TOO MUCH for his mind to wrap around. You want a fishing rod? They have 2,800 to choose from. Reels? 1884 models. Etc.
But because shaving supplies take up so little space (compared to other things) and because we really like variety, this works. Pasteur's is a small store, but boy does he cram in the product. He also does "events" that I'd love to attend. Leon told me he did a sailing event around the harbor, and he also said he's doing a BBQ Wet Shave meet of sorts with a tent outside on the sidewalk on 34th street with Hot Dogs and Hamburgers and wet shaving fun. Leon is such a great guy, and his store is so amazing. He deserves the success he has."I get some lather and lather-up, then I get my razor and shave! Zip Zop, see that? My face Is ripped to shreads!"
