I am sorry to say that there is nothing we can do about this except let others know just how deceptive these people are. That little line is all the shield they need and unless you have something in writing saying you would receive a barber point, you may as well enjoy your new razor.

Actually, I do. I asked specifically that they send one with the notch and was told they would.... via email. I wrote and told them I was disappointed when they did this. No response to that note yet....
But I gotta tell you, I love this razor. I was disappointed it wasn't exactly what I'd ordered but it's really, really nice (and my first TI!) so, initial impressions aside, I think it's found a home....
Hope you're enjoying yours as well, Mason.

Gents, I bought one of the Old blank, new razors from Knifecenter...it shaves amazingly! I bought another old/new on eBay, also amazing. I didn't make a point (no pun intended) of selecting the razor based on the point. Regardless, not waht you wanted? If there is no "All Sales Final" in the ad, then you can:
Stop payment on the item with your CC company
Return the item (return receipt postage) once payment has been stopped and inform KC what you have done and what you intend to do (see below)....if they do not respond:
(and now for the steps for the serious consumer...or seriously P.O.'d person)
File a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in their home city
File a complaint with the Attorney General's office for their home state (under Consumer affairs usually)
Post your grievance on other forums
It's your money....not happy? Raise hell! I had FedEx "misplace" two razors I sent to Lynn for honing...he searched everywhere - no dice. FedEx's local office wouldn't even respond to FedEx's internal inquiries. I filed a claim and annoyed them to death until the processed it. I told them and their supervisors how poor the service was....they didn't care...but I did get $$$ back.
BTW, it looks like they changes the detail picture of the razor...the group listing pic is still the notched one, but the detail pic is a round point. I have the J81 and J82...both are great (J81 is like shaving with a machete...very heavy, no pressure at all...4 days of growth, gone in a flash!)

Thanks WB. I have to tell you, while this razor was not what I requested, it's by far the best razor I own. Now I don't have the experience to say I'm getting the best from ANY of the few razors I currently own, but if this is any indication of the shave you get from a TI, I'm in. And while I was kinda miffed at KCI for shipping a different razor than the one they said they would, I'm not at all unhappy with it and WILL do business with them again. In the end, for me, it's all about the quality of the shave. Period.
TI ROCKS!
(and to their credit, KCI was very quick with their delivery)
Regards,
Ken

Hi Gents I got an E-mail from TI today about this razor. And considering what they say I must apologize (A little) to Knife Center. Here is the E-mail.
Mason
Dear Mason Rucker,
First let me thank you for your interest in our razors. As you have 20 of our razors you must appreciate the quality of their steel and their manufacture.
Mr. Rucker we are very sorry for the problem that you have encountered when you ordered the razor from the Knifecenter. I assure you that this is not the fault of the Knifecenter. As these are historical forgings, we make them without distinguishing as they come out of the old stock boxes, sometimes with round points and sometimes with hook noses as the photo. We have not always been the best company in terms of organization of our references and in fact the two razors DO have the same model number. I am not even sure if we currently have any more stock of the forging of the model that you show. However, I can assure you that the forged back and blade even of the round-point variante are superb, rare and of the same excellent quality.
I hope that this answers your question/questions and that you will continue to have confidence in both Thiers-Issard and the Knifecenter.
I assure you that we do try to have different model numbers for every razor and style but we have over 17 pages of single spaced razors in different variants that we sell and sometimes even a computor is not enough to cover all the surprises and variantes that we have.
What is more, we are constantly creating or recreating new models etc and this can be a paperwork nightmare.
What we do want to continue is a constant improvement in quality and a good relation with all our customers.
A last thought, I am sorry for replying so late to this email but our factory has been closed until today for summer vacation.
regards,
david loft for Thiers-Issard

Maybe TI needs to hire a database admin from Dovo?
