Those Damascus steel razors truly must be something else though. The edge that can be attained, the shear weight of the history of Damascus steel, and the aesthetic beauty must be absolutely fantastic.

Validation of correct decisions to get to the point of acquiring such masterpieces.

The FKTR is an icon among razors. The storied history. The unusual geometry. The rare opportunity to hold something that has been in the hands of so many great historical figures. Well, it's just special.

Gary, hats off to you for bringing this wonderful artificact to us.

What we call damascus now is 'just' pattern welded steel.
'Real' damascus aka wootz, now that carries some historic weight. Mike Blue (a member here) is a reknowned expert on wootz steel and pattern welding.

I must Agree with you about Taylors Eye Witness razors I've got 2 3/4 NOS wedges & they are my favorite razors at the moment ,giving me consistently great shaves with no irritation.Paul

....and, for a little more of the history and provenance of The Fabulous King Tut razor, be sure and read these Questions and Answers RE: The Fabulous King Tut Razor

It totally escapes me how any single razor could possibly be more sought after or coveted than the FKTR.

(...with props to our very own Traveller!)
Saw the Port Isabel address and knew it couldn't be a coincidence. Classic!
