I think my "holy grail" varies. My main razor is a Clements Superspeed however, my C-MON Filli is a nice one when to go to when it's freshly sharpened.

well I've been away for the summer under canvas, so haven't seen whats been going on here.

but been shavign now for 10 months with a straight and my favourite is my Dovo Astrale 5/8 with a round point

    although I also have a Krauss 6/8, a Excel 6/8, a Henckel 5/8 spike point, a Mappins Shilling 6/8 spike point
and during the summer I have acquired:

a Joseph Elliot 6/8 wedge notch point
    a Kropp 6/8 round point
and a black horn handle 'George Butler' in it's original case with its black slate hone

My preferences change. The best razor is the razor that gives YOU best results. Best results don't only depend on the quality of the razor (though bad razors won't give good results), but also on your technique, your skin, the honing and stropping.

At the moment I am getting best results with my Friodur, Friedr. Abr. Herder and Heljestrands. However if asked again in a couple of months' time the list might be very different.

So, take the journey, buy razors of good reputation and sell what you don't like.
