I never thank people and I'm relatively certain that nobody has
thanked me. I don't pay any attention to the new system so I
would say go ahead and `thank' away as much as you like.

I only thank people for answering my questions. I try not to go overboard with it besides that.

When thinking about thanking, I often think thanks can be overused. But then I think, no - thanks are for thanking good or useful posts, so I don't mind a good thank, I think. On the other hand, if we don't thank a post that deserves thanks, the poster might think - noone thanked me...I think thanks is thank-less.

Anyway, that's what I think about thanks. Other's thoughts on thanking may differ and that's OK. Thankfully, we can all think what we want about thanks, and thank each other thankfully for our frank thanks thoughts. That's what I think.

    Thanks!

    James.
Wow. You totally ruined the word for me. Now it just sounds meaningless and rediculous. Take any word and repeat it 50 times. After a while it starts sounding weird and lose its meaning. Try "penguin".

Haven't used the new feature yet and probably never will. If I'm going to thank someone for something, I'll either go back and make a new post and actually take the 2 seconds to type "Thanks" or "Thank You"; or shoot the person a P.M. Other than that, I'm with Scott...I don't pay any attention to it.

    Thanks,
    -Pary

I gotta agree with Hawkeye5, In a gentleman's world you use terms like please and thank you. What valid reason is their for counting them.

I have used it but then realized as Rusty Shackleford said "If I'm going to thank someone for something, I'll either go back and make a new post and actually take the 2 seconds to type "Thanks" or "Thank You" "
