Thanked: 3261 so far. The kicker is I've never straight shaved and have just begun my research. He signed up here few days after I posted in the forum we're usually on. :P
Also I was trying to convert my dad but being hours away, it's quite tough without showing him. It's always better to follow your words with action.

Thanked: 235I converted one of the female teachers here at my school. I'm also working on a new generation, slowly. I have my collection of razors as my screen saver. Quite often my students ask about them. But I think it just confirms their opinions that I am crazy.

I've discussed my use of straight razors with many people, but not of them look at me like I'm sane anymore after that... Needless to say, I don't have any converts to my credit. However, I agree with Obie in that I don't really try to convert people to my way of doing things.

Thanked: 1212I don't like the idea of converting anyone into anything. I always thought of it as odd that people in general want to convince other people to do things "their" way.
That said, I do things exclusively my way (sometimes even to the point that one can hardly call it "a way"). It happens that people adopt certain behavior. Not often, but still, it happens.
Furthermore, I think that the typical straight razor shaver is a gamma male, and those don't really qualify for much conversion.

Thanked: 7None for me. But I look forward to teaching my sons when they get old enough. I think the only place to really talk about this sort of thing would be at a barber shop, but since I don't have enough hair left to justify going to such a place my opportunities to share are limited.
In any case, I enjoy SR shaving and thank one and all on this forum for freely sharing information that has helped me a lot. With that in mind, perhaps everybody online here can count me as "1".

Thanked: 402Keep up the spirit!
My friend refused for one year,
today he explained his second straight shave with
"only technically interested" and did his entire face!
Even a second pass ATG, hehehe
He's still singing songs about multi blade systems
and modern metallurgy
but I bet they will become more scarce in the future.
