    SUCCESS!!!!
My best test beard is on it!
Mr. Growing Steel Plate himself! (My buddy for the last 26 years)

    I can't believe it, hehehe
After a year of talking about all the ins and outs of razors,
    resto, forging, grinding, honing etc.
he's been shaving himself with two of my razors this morning.
One Henckels I did, and another, a honemeister did.
Went not really well cause he's got to find out about the angle and all,
but now he's off with a scary sharp wedge for tomorrow and will keep at it.
DarioT's speed shaving video helped a lot to convince him!

    SUCCESS!!!!

None for me. But I look forward to teaching my sons when they get old enough. I think the only place to really talk about this sort of thing would be at a barber shop, but since I don't have enough hair left to justify going to such a place my opportunities to share are limited.

In any case, I enjoy SR shaving and thank one and all on this forum for freely sharing information that has helped me a lot. With that in mind, perhaps everybody online here can count me as "1".

    Keep up the spirit!
My friend refused for one year,
today he explained his second straight shave with
"only technically interested" and did his entire face!
Even a second pass ATG, hehehe

He's still singing songs about multi blade systems
    and modern metallurgy
but I bet they will become more scarce in the future.

    Olivia,

During the week I shave a the health club. So far I have not convinced anyone to give the gentleman's shave a try. I continue to build curiosity, though, especially among some of the old timers. The younger ones and the yuppies are so busy attacking their faces with multi-blade razors and aerosol shave creams that I feel there may not be any hope for them right now. Then again, you never know. So I keep trying by example.

    Regards,

    Obie

    Obie, just keep showing it!
The younger ones are quite curious!
(Right now I have an offer on "starter razors" going for cheap
    and they really move!)

My friend came back yesterday with quite a nick!
Second time he tried to give me the stuff back.
Second time I've sent him off with it once again.
Guess it takes a little time!

I tried to convert my dad since I got my razor (3 weeks ago). I'm already getting pretty good at shaving apart from the chin. I had my father try to shave last night. Putting a warm cloth over hs beard was already too long for him and he took it off after 15 sec. His lather was as wet as a blade should be when stored. On most of his face, the angle of the blade was over 90 degrees, thus spreading the lather instead of actually cutting the beard.
I am desperate and won't try to convert him anymore. I was thinking of buying him a saftey razor kit for his birthday, but I won't.

1 so far. The kicker is I've never straight shaved and have just begun my research. He signed up here few days after I posted in the forum we're usually on. :P

Also I was trying to convert my dad but being hours away, it's quite tough without showing him. It's always better to follow your words with action.
