It would be cool to find someone in my family that's a straight or even a DE shaver, but I doubt it.
Both my dad and brother are electric shavers.
My grandmother told me my grandfather used to shave with a straight before I was born, but he traded it for the convenience of cartridges. Too bad he got rid of his straight, so I only got to salvage some of his creams and aftershaves.

Thanked: 36Yes and no.
My wife shaves with a straight
But im addicted...
I think about it all the time, and go on about it even more. I have driven my wife, our flatmates, my friends at church, at uni & extended family crazy going on about shaving so much! (And strangers to)
Im obsessed.

I've heard that my two estranged brothers are wet shavers along with an uncle or two on that side of the family are wet shavers, but I doubt any of them uses a straight. One of those brothers used to use a shavette, but I doubt he's gone back to that. I also set my FIL up a year and a half ago because he was bugging me to, but he sliced the pad of one of his fingers off on his first attempt and that was that. I hear that gear is coming back my way soon. My wife thinks it's sexy though so that goes a long way to making me feel good about straight shaving.

I have not found anyone else that uses a straight, and most of my family thinks that I'm nuts. My oldest son is interested, and my youngest daughter loves to watch me shave when she visits.

Thanked: 0I seem to have the exact opposite experience. Despite being the only one I know who shaves with something not featured in an ad, most people I tell of this are actually quite intrigued by it. Maybe just because it's odd that someone who's 25 would be interested in something so "old" or "traditional". Or maybe because history repeats itself and things that have been forgotten become fresh after being removed a generation. Either way, it's an interesting topic to discuss and the girls really seem to love it. I mean only real men shave with a straight...

Me too. Lot's of people in the family think it's "cool" for me to shave. But some of my friends think I'm crazy.
Yeah, I'm in my early thirties and it's cool to have long wet-shaving and straight razor conversation with older people. They are intrigued and happy to talk to a youngster so into straights and general wet-shaving.
Oh, yeah, the women. My wife thinks it's "hot" for me to shave with a straight razor.
