Default Have any Vintage Straight Shaving Photos?

I'm thinking of putting a few vintage photos on the wall in my shave den and I wondered if anyone had any nice vintage photos they would be willing to share with the members.I will post the ones I have. Most came from public use photos in the Library of Congress web pages.I was hoping members from other countries would have access to some we haven't seen.

I can't help noticing in the old Barbershop photos that regular customers had their own shaving mug and brush stored on shelves so that you get to use your own soap each time the barber would shave you.More sanitary too.

Nice pics. Curious about the second photo: Any ides why there are so many mugs and brushes in those cubby holes in front of each chair?

Also, on the Colgate Ad, "His First Shave" anyone know if that is a Rockwell painting?

I don't think I could let somebody else shave me... that's just too personal! I mean, seriously, unless they've got the ultimate, perfection razor, how can they possibly feel what they're doing to my face? I take great pains to hone and strop and prep, and I get great pleasure out of the result. There's no way I'd let someone else take that away from me, nor could I trust them to get it "just right."

    Great pictures, though...

And that brings up another thing: shaving of the scalp. I was just in the local Rite-Aid to get some shaving soap and saw a head shaving device that was sort of Mach-3-ish, and I started to think about what it might be like to shave your head with a straight. Owww! Glad I got a full head of hair!

But all of the brushes were just stuck back in the mugs! Oh those poor badger bristles...
