Greetings!
Oh yeah, I'm OUT, woohooo!! I'm feeling slightly frazzled around the edges, not being able to sleep hasn't helped but it's been a long few days and they seem to have caught up with me today! Other than that I am still annoyingly chipper.
Thank you all so much for your well wishes, thoughts and prayers. Spike read them out to me at 1am today. My slow ass brain is still processing everything that has happened, I kinda started loosing track around midnight on Saturday.
It would have been nice for the impatient tiny one to have waited a little longer but guess she got so excited about getting her new wheels, wardrobe and Razorcon to look forward to that she decided she wanted out. I can't really describe how I feel right now.
They kept me waiting over 9 hours to see Nim after I first came around, which was seriously frustrating. I hadn't seen her at all at that point but knew her Daddy had, which sort of made me feel better. She didn't look her best with all the tubes but, as reported, she is improving everyday.
I can't remember when she looked at me for the first time, I just remember it being PHENOMINAL. We got to have some quiet time alone this morning, making a total of three times I've been able to have a cuddle with her so far (which is annoying and frustrating at the same time). I got told earlier I couldn't hold her point blank by the snotty ward Sister as Nim had "been disturbed a lot today and needs her rest!" How the I didn't land one on her I'll never know.
What made it harder was having to leave the hospital without her tonight, that is the part that is killing me right now. But everything crossed she will be home in a few weeks.
We will be introducing Nim to her extended family as soon as we can, all I can say is watch this space.....................

LATEST!
Back from another day at the pre-pre-pre-nursery...
Silver is still doing very well. A little slower than usual, but no surprises there. Squid is doing better by the day. She was developing infantile jaundice yesterday. Was developing, so they put what is basically a very high power sun lamp over her incubator yesterday as the UV helps the liver break down the bilirubin. No, I do not understand it either. That meant we were not allowed to have her out for a cuddle, just reaching a hand in for a mini-hug on our mini-girly. When I spoke to the nurses earlier, they told me that she is off the lamp, in a romper & tucked up for the night. She is taking Silver's milk about 1ml every hour via a nasal tube & that is helping her loads.
We get proper hugs tomorrow!
