Thanked: 6Actually I haven't really had any weepers yet (about a week or two into straight shaving). I did cut my ear today being careless about watching what the rest of the blade was doing. I've definitely shed more blood with the DE. I rarely got a completely blood free shave with the DE.

I don't usually cut myself shaving, I've got my technique down pretty good.
I can tell you I almost cut my thumb off a few months ago. It left one hell of a scar.
I was shaving with a vintage DD Goldedge, My hands must have been a bit wet. I normally keep a towel on me as I shave. Anyway, the blade slipped and droped right on my thumb. There was blood everywhere. It looked like a scene from one of the Saw movies. The moral to this story is, Make sure your hands are dry when you shave.
P.S. The duck is OK !We have assumed control !

I'm only on shave 8 or 9 so I'm still a n00b, but my first bloodless shave was #4, I think. It wasn't BBS and I finished with my Mach II, but I figure it still counts.

I think I'm in week 14 now and have bleeding reduced to a nick on my chin next to a slight dimple, and sometimes on my upper lip where the angle changes as I approach my front teeth from the side. But still pink foam regardless. The really bloody ones are always just under the bottom back of the jaw next to my jugular vein. I certainly don't pierce the vein, but it sure seems to bleed like hell!
Something I HAVE noticed is that almost always, the cuts are as I first start a stroke or at the very end of one. I blame lack of attention to the ending stroke bleeders and a bad angle on the start of stoke gouges. If I could figure out how to get at the shallow dimple in my chin I'll have my first blood-free shave. Maybe that's where a good spike edge comes in?
I can't help but wonder what guys did before Alum! Hell I'm not sure a good cake of clay mud would have stopped some of my first facial assaults!
