Not intending to veer of subject but, call me ignorant, I've seen a lot of this, and I have unfortunately had few Japanese friends; are they really that harry, or have they just been sold hard into this market, like American woman are sold on being super thin? Perhaps that's another thread. The Japanese woman I have met didn't seem bad; maybe they where shaving too???

You bring up a good point. Having spent lots of time in Asia (the Philippines, Guam, Korea, Japan) I can honestly say that I've never encountered any Asian (male or female) with very much facial hair. The men's beards are generally patchy and fairly thin and the women barely have even that soft peach fuzz kind of thing going. I can't say I can ever recall having seen any Asian man with what (by Western standards) would be considered a full beard. Similarly, I've never seen anyone, anywhere with hair on their eyelids. I think your assessment is spot on, they've probably just been conditioned (via marketing) to over fixate on even the slightest quantity of fuzz.

well, I'm asian, nationality Indonesia, race chinese you might have not encounter one, but I did lot of them are my friends and relatives, man and woman...the beard and all the hair in some men may not match the one like Caucasian or middle east people, but in some case they are. For woman, my friend even open a salon only for shaving woman, about hair in forehead? indeed, one of my closest friend and former coworker had problem with overgrown hair in forhead, eyelid and unibrow...man and woman trust me I've seen them, fyi I spend 22 years of my life in Indonesia and Singapore, several month in german and now about a year in Australia, so I guess I can really compare, while actually in Indonesia there are a lot of Caucasian foreigner especially in big cities. I don't know about japan, but chinese, south east asian, yes.

I have seen a little hair on the forehead so I guess that bugs some people. It's probably worse on some I guess. I've seen men with the unibrow too. Personally though I think a little bit of wispy sideburn can be sexy on a woman. IMO.

Notice above how Burt's unibrow makes up for Ernie's lack. Ha, ha. You think Ernie shaves his off?
