You're gonna need to turn that frown into a smile! Why not use Lynn's method of honing in circles and back and forth passes, with the blade at a 45 degree angle from horizontal, on a coarse hone, until the frown is gone? I tried it on a razor this week and the method worked, and fast. I used a coarse American Hone Company stone that removes metal very quickly. Getting the bevel established again didn't take very long, either.

If you don't want it, I'd either post it back on the bay, or list it in the classifieds as a resto challenge... You could also donate it to one of the mods to use in some kind of a resto contest or giveaway.. Just a few thoughts. It would make a good story for the wiki if you were willing to document your experience...

I would love too, but 1. I have no restoration equipment, honing stones or a strop, 2. I have no experience with that and 3. I have yet to shave with a straight razor! haha I don't know how I am going to restore them but its something I hope to find a way of doing, atleast eventually.

Thanked: 235There is one type of collection that I think most of us here have. A draw full of projects that they will get to one day. I think you may have just started yours.
