Aevos 6/8
I got a 6/8 Aevos made in Soligen on ebay and it arrived on Friday. It came from New South Wales. I stropped it about 30-40 times on my plain leather strop to do a test shave on Saturday. I was very surprised to find it was definitly shave ready. In fact I got a really close shave with it. I had missed a 7/8 Aevos on ebay a few months back . Has anyone else heard of this brand? I am very happy with it.

As someone said, if they ran into the deal of a lifetime, they are not going to talk that up even among us friends or "friends." And, I don't think Lynn's trial balloon is intended for those who have a reasonable idea of value.
I am very positive about the suggestion. And, believe it's primary audience will be those who are new to the game who don't know the diff between Zeepk and Boker. I believe this forum or feature for newbies is one of the few missing member features missing.
I came to SRP in July without knowing anything about razors. An Ebay lamb lead to the slaughter. Let's say I saw a razor I thought was a good deal, asked the members, only to have someone snatch it out from under me. No big deal! What I wanted was education.
Here's the bylaw, and the only bylaw:
If you ask about an item on Ebay, expect for others to bid on it!
Then, no hard feelings. And, it is an educational service for new members, and a finder service for the experienced.
Yowza!

Bylaw? Maybe more like an axiom! :-) I suspect those that bid against someone that posts about something they're bidding are lurkers though. The info is still good for new guys and I sure learned a bunch in the first few weeks of RAD as a result. I think we all post info on a bay blade in there if (1) we can't get it ourselves and someone else might like it, (2) because it's REALLY interesting, or (3) its SO bad that we want to share a laugh. I guess in the end the auction talk section certainly fills a purpose. I take a swing through it on an almost daily basis when I'm not on the road.

Thanked: 101I have yet to buy a straight on B-Bay. I get real nice razors at the flea markets, garage sales & antique shops at great prices so why bother. I really like to buy things I can hold in my hands before purchase or to buy from someone I know. That's just the way I roll.
