Help please: burglary leads
Ok, some already know about our apartment burglary... But to bring you up to speed, we lost everything, we now know who did it (long story, but the detective found out 100%), and we are just trying to pin down solid evidence that will nail the guy because it looks like he already moved most of our stuff out of his posession. Even when my stuff shows up at the pawn shop we have to prove it's mine, and not just similar...As it turns out, my regular rotation was in fact taken.. I still have a razor though so it's going to be ok
Anyway, if anyone could take a look at a link describing my rotation razors and help me give the detective info saying how difficult it would be to se identical razors, or how you can spot custom work I would appreciate it. I am looking for all comments because u don't want to overlook anything that could help.A few new adds to the rotation! - Straight Razor Place Forums
The detective is most interested in any distinguishing characteristics, proof of custom work, approximate dollar value estimates (charges change depending on dollar ammounts in the burglary) and anything you can think of that could help.
thanks

Dave, That sucks man ! I think about that stuff all the time. I have a large gun safe, with no room in it for all my Str8 stuff. I've been thinking about gettng a larger safe.
What did they get besides razors, did they get any hones, strops, stuff like that?
What items besides str8 stuff did they get....
Did you have renter's insurance....I also believe this is a sign of the times, due to unemployment.
Anyway, Would the picture you have help, I would think their can't be too many of those type razors around.

That's terrible!
I know how it feels, I had two dirtbikes I paid for on a 12-14 year olds salary stolen twice in a row! We found the second guy and got him on GTA and twice the bikes value.
Good luck!

Very kind of you Sham, thank you sincerely, but I am ok I still have a razor or two, and a few resto projects so I don't need you to send me a razor. Still thank you so much for the gesture, many SRP members have offered anything from razors, to sets, to cash... Thank you everyone. We are ok, and have lots of support.
It sounds like the detective is very interested in the razor collection lead, and I may get them back if he pawned them and I can give solid evidence that nobody would have razors just like these. That being said, take a look at the link and anything you can think of to say why these are unique, hard to find, custom etc. Would probably help. I have given him lots of info, but I don't want to leave anything out. Thanks again

For those who didn't see my other post, he stole everything, including furniture and baby clothes... Again, we are ok and have family nearby that is helping us out... We now know who did it and apparently the detective is just putting a case together to nail the guy. Thanks for the support.

Hi Dave,
Sorry to hear about the burglary. I know we will do what we can to help.
The picture gets a little grainy when enlarged so details are a bit blurred. Do you have any other you could post? So...
- Did the Rodgers have wear on the trademark stamp on the arm of the blade by the pivot pin?
- Did the Griffon have pitting or stains on the top of the blade?
- The scale end caps are unique on the Henkles
- The scales on the Boker are unique too
- Did you have the Wade and Butcher rescaled yet? Why were you having it rescaled? Was the issue unique in some manner?
- The Rodgers and Reynolds were restorations; if so can you provide any samples of the wood you used for the scales? Any pre/post pics?
Good luck I hope they get the bastard!
Tom

Yes, and do you have the original picture electronically somewhere? A higher resolution couldn't hurt. You have a timestamp on your post as well, so that's a bit of evidence that the blades were in your possession.
That really sucks, though. Best of luck to you guys and hope that bastard pays dearly.
