I have a Bresduck that has Dubl Duck and Solingen engravings. It is blued, but I am not sure if that is original. It says special no. 1 and the ducks are noticeably different from my other DD's. The blade seems to be of very high quality; though I have not shaved with it and cannot quantify that statement.
I have a feeling it will be a good shaver when I get around to it.

I have one of those too, but without the blue and it IS a great shaver for me.
Curious, where did you get it and what did you pay for yours?

I'm glad you expalined that because this started reminding me of the time my friend bought a "Domega" watch from a street vendor ("Omega" used to be a very popular, good quality watch).

Not to get too off track but... it is blued? Like a rifle barrel? Is that a common feature with razors? Can they be re-blued if needed? How does that effect the edge? Inquiring minds want to know!

Yes, the tang and the shank are blued like a gun. Seems like a deent idea since that's where most of the rust ends up on old straights that I have seen. Like I said, I am not sure if it's original on this razor (DD Special #1).

I recently scored an ebay razor that is plainly stamped CS Bresnick, is that the same compnay or something different? Red scales and in decent condition. But no ducks or any other markings except Solingen Germany on the opposite side.
