The worse cut was from a kitchen knife I was honing. 4 stitches and an avulsed (removed) finger pad.

Nothing too bad with a straight.

My rule of thumb and what I teach my son with knives is this; I wish I could remember who told me this.

Knives are like snakes. Respect them if you don't your gonna get bit.

Why snakes? Snakes are sneaky and lie about biting people that lack attention.

I ran one of my razors into the middle finger of my left hand the other day. Right on the top. it was pretty deep but hardly bled at all luckily.

More annoyingly I dug a gouge out of my right thumb just below the nail filing a knife I'm making. That bled for ages and hurt like a SOB.

Is it a sign of addiction that right after the blade sliced into my thumb I felt a relief because it missed the thumbnail.

The thumbnail would have dulled the edge you know?

no need to feel dumb about that one...I think I can top it....I'm a newbie to all of this and I was attempting to perform an HHT on my blade....well I dont know about the strand of hair but it was certainly sharp enough to take a nice little piece of skin off of my index finger and thumb on the opposite hand...its healing nicely though....I sorta feel that error on my part might have moved me out of the "newbie corner"....welcome to the party friend

Oh, sorry I thought you were talking about my golf shots.
I'm kidding. I hope it's ok. Cuts are nasty and I always get them when hand sanding these old vintage blades. Thats why I sterilize them before I start trying to restore them.
Good Luck and don't let a thumb slow you down!

Funny, I have never cut my hands before, ever.

But I do have a scar about a quarter of an inch long next to my lip from trying to buff with a not sharp enough blade.

This thread addreses the oft asked question about why safety razors became so popular so quickly.

That's exactly why I lightly breadknife my ebay specials before I clean em up Couple of the ones I got in the mail were darn near shave ready

Yes, you will certainly see blood if you get into SR shaving.
