He's a great guy, and I enjoy hanging out with him very much. I enjoy the woods, and guns, but they are hobbies to me, not "life."

He found out I shaved with a straight and said to his wife, almost sheepishly, something along the lines of "Wow...see, now he's a REAL man." If I wasn't such a "real" man....I would have blushed. Instead, I just said basically, "Eh, it's no big deal...great shaves, though...if you ever want to get rid of the beard, let me know."
Real men don't shave. Only metro-sexuals, dandies and fops. If you want to read about a real man, maybe this book will put it all in perspective:

I have had a number of different reactions, but the best was while deployed to Iraq.

Our amenities were pretty sparse but at least we had hot water. I got all set up and started stropping my Friodur and the Marines just stopped. No one said anything except for the Battalion XO.

He looked over as I started the 1st pass and said "that's pretty bad-ass, but what is it with you Navy guys?!" I stopped and had to ask. It seems he had only seen one other guy use a straight in his life, and it was another Sailor!

I just smiled and said "So much for the Marines being the "Men's" department"
