    Question Stiffness

So, I shaved this morning (okay, early afternoon) and afterwards, things felt a bit weird.

I had gotten my closest shave ever, and as of the moment, no razor burn or anything. But my face felt a bit tight. It's weird, like the skin was stretched too tight or something.

Maybe it was an overly libreral application of cold water and skin food once I was finished? It wasn't painful, and went away in a few minutes, but it felt strange.

    Anyone else experienced this?

I think I know what you mean. I sometime experience something like that. I figured it was the excess moisture drying off of my face caused it. Like you said, it goes away after a few minutes.

I typically finish with cold water & a splash of Pinaud. I get that tight-faced feeling from time to time after a really close shave. I usually apply some moisturizer and it goes away. If you haven't discussed moisturizers with your wife or girlfriend, you really should.

I think thats just the feeling you get when your face is stripped of all its oil. A little moisturizer will handle that.

    Keith,

Take a look at adding one more step in the shaving process. My after shave process includes the application of either Natureade Aloe 80 (aloe gel) available at Whole Foods, Wild Oats and many natural food stores, Baxter After Shave Balm, DR Harris After Shave Milk or Proraso Pre-Post Shave Balm (available from Classic Shaving). Which one depends on my mood. Probably my favorite is the Aloe 80. Once in a great while I will use Clinique moisturizer. Basically you are exfoliating your face when you shave, so a little help goes a long way!

Man, that is one fault thread name

You might pressed too hard, and shaved off some skin layers too... Don't touch your face, you'll introduce bacteria to the fresh layers of skin, and keep moisturizing...

I LOVE that feeling! I don't usually get it in the winter when I moisturize after shaving, but in the summer when I use a/s splashes, every time! I don't have many wrinkles yet (40), but I still walk out the door feeling younger looking when everything is stiff. MY FACE that is, Nenad. ;-) ...Jeff

I'll use Clinique moisturiser if I need to as well, but with the Spectro Jel and Ambrosia cream there's seldome any need. Both moisturise while they accomplish their other work. Competent beard preparation makes the difference 9 times out of 10.

The Clinique Moisture Surge is really, truly incredible. I could practically feel moisture rushing into my skin. My wife has switched away from Clinique, seeking a product that better suits her facial chemistry. I have benefitted by having a couple of different Clinique products to enjoy.... er, finish off so they don't go to waste in a landfill.
