Eventually when you've been honing for years you can pass along your knowledge in similar fashion and the debt will have been repaid.

Thanked: 4942You are welcome back any time and If you make it to Missouri when I move there, the door will always be open. I had a great time as well and am really glad the trip was worth it for you.
Have fun and make pretty razors that shave great,

Thanked: 530Haha, all the visits to his house are GREAT... Ya'know, Alembic, you're making me feel sad now, because I can't help but realize he's moving in a few weeks It's been such a convenience and a blessing having him so nearby... amazing opportunity.. Just wish I had started Straight Shaving sooner, so I could have met Lynn sooner.
Ah well... I can visit Missouri to pester him every now and then

+1 ! What more is there to say ? If it wasn't for Lynn I wouldn't be shaving with a straight razor let alone able to hone them for myself. Been there and tried it twenty five years ago and failed. Fifteen hundred miles separates us but I've found Lynn is as close as a telephone and always more than willing to help. One fine day I may make the pilgrimage. Until then thanks to Lynn and to the OP for sharing.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

This is just such an awesome place to be!
I cant imagine theres another forum on the web where the founder has members round to his home and teaches them like this.
Thanks Alembic for sharing your story, and Lynn for your huge generosity.
This place rocks!
