I guess I'm lucky. The barber I go to is only $10 for a shave and a haircut.

BTW, that's a picture of my dog after I shaved him and taught him to walk backwards .

Thanked: 0I guess its all about where each of us live. city or town. New York is expensive and miami is not far behind, but there are still little areas around here by the famous CALLE OCHO (little Havana) where you find old barber shops. they wear little zipper blue polyester short sleeve jackets and still use that electric massager attached to the back of their hand when they give you a short neck massage after a hair cut.

Thanked: 2JL -- If you travel to WI, I know of at least one barbershop which uses non-shavette str8s.

Thanked: 346Mine uses a Monsieur Charles, which fooled me at first because it looks like a Red Imp out of the corner of your eye.

Thanked: 21Then my NY barber is breaking the law when he shaves napes! I know NY barbers can't use a brush by law, but I don't think there's a requirement for disposable blades. Someone at SMF recently posted a pointer to the applicable NY health code, and I don't recall blades being an issue.
FWIW, there's probably many more comfortable faces out there because barbers use disposable blades. Sure, a straight is ideal, if maintained correctly, but I don't think many of todays barbers could sharpen a razor. There probably aren't many barbers who could train them right, either.

Thanked: 0That's one thing I miss about Miami. I don't know if they'll be as care full with your SE razor as you would be. I would buy a second SE razor just to take to the barber shop.
