I think it is great Rich. I liked your previous avatar and will be adding my mug to mine. Although, you guys may not notice a difference.

Hawaiian shirt Must have watched Miami Vice on TV or something that day. I usually wear cowboy stuff.

What about hollow grind? Are you going for it?
Absolutely, but it is the half hollow. That just means that it will not have the extended thin straight wall that looks to be about 3/16 of an inch in width on most razors. Razor width will still be 5/8+ for this batch of steel.

Hey, what's this deal about putting your mugs in the Avatars. I never pictured Ed (Forrestryprof) wearing a suit, or Bill in a Hawaiian shirt. You guys are blowing all your images.
    Larry,
    Are these more appropriate?

What about the blade length? Would it be cheaper to produce a 2 1/2" edge rather than the more common 3"?

If that razor ends up this side of the pond then I wouldn't mind giving it a go

It's just as much work... the only difference being the cost of the steel. If it's Devin Thomas damascas at $21 an inch, then it wouldn't take too long to save a little. But for the quantities I am going to be making, it won't amount to enough to make a change.

The cutting edge on my template is 2.75 inches right now.

TTT cause I want a status check Yes I'm stoked about trying out a new razor and even MORE excited about trying a CUSTOM RAZOR! So how goes things? Got pics? Possible ETA yet? Don't forget we already talked about that other stuff before this went down Bill...so I'm looking forward to seeing first hand the sort of thing I'm likely to nd up with

I like the idea, but I don't think I'm ready to use someone else's razor. Don't want to butcher the blade on the sink and such. Bill thanks for the generous offer but I just can't take that chance at the moment. Maybe down the line a bit.
