Actually I have been kicking the idea of creating a bit of local competition to DOVO and TI around in my mind for a while. However, with my current knowledge of metalworking, I'd rather shave with that Pakistani thing than with what I'd produce.. For that matter I'd also rather choose one of those McDonalds plastic knives lol.
Bill, do you have any resources on the blade grinding process that I would be able to read up on? This idea is still under consideration but I'd appreciate anything that would give me a picture of what I'd be getting involved with.

Thanked: 324Bill always has a wit like a razor's edge. It's sharp and keen and he never knows whether it'll be smooth as silk or leave a harsh razor burn until he whips it out and tries it, LOL.

In a way I'm surprised that demand is high enough to
keep TI and Dovo in business. I have to wonder though,
with proper steel could those makers in Pakistan turn out
high quailty razors? or would their equipment simply grind
at too high of a speed and burn out the temper of the
steel?

Expencive is very loosely used term. What is high for one, might be pocket change for another. Anyways, straight razor is not something you buy every month, or year. You get one for life. And it better be good.
