Hahahaha I was just thinking that!!! I figured they'd get sued all over the place for selling straights and telling people to use them on their faces.

I would send my rc 70 razor off to be sharpened

We could take bets on how long it would take someone to give up trying to sharpen it

I heard of a new stainless steel for kitchen knives that can be hardened to rc 70
On a C scale... I don't think so. Do you have any idea how hard 70 is?

I use a 70 C on a template for making guards because files won't touch it. Slides past like it was glass.... They would also shatter if you dropped it.

I think I saw it in a knife forum when I was researching japanese kitchen knives. Probably would be made with japanese blade construction so it wouldn't be so brittle. Would be cool too see how long it could keep an edge.

I have no idea what 70 is like but japanese chisels are hardened to 64-65 and stand up too hard wood without chipping is 70 such a stretch with all the technology we have these days?

I would like to state I know absolutely nothing about differing hardnesses differen't steels or really how hardening effects steel

What about Shapton stones? Would they give the 70C an edge?

[QUOTE=urleebird] You need a machine like this. If you are serious, make a trip to Solingen to see what they have. I'm actually trying to get one of these built, myself... FOR MY VERY EXPENSIVE CUSTOM RAZORS QUOTE]

Instead of having one built would it be an idea to see if you can get one 2nd hand? There should be some around with many razor manufacturers gone out of buisness.
