If you need a quick cheap fix until you find it or replace it:
Go to a local shoe repair shop or leather shop and ask for a 3" by 26" slice of pulled leather (spelling?). It's a thick piece of leather you can use for leather only stropping until you get the good one back or a new one. It should cost around 6 bucks or so.
puch a couple holes in it with plenty of room on the edge for holding and string a heavy shoe string through it for hanging. Armor-all or saddle soap will work for short term conditioning it if you feel the need.
In hotels double wrap the shoe string on the door knob and do a bow tie without the half granny loop. If you choose to keep this as an emergency back up then put a couple grommets in the holes you punch. You can even use an exacto knife or pakistani razor to mold a handle on the end.

JL,
Have you called the hotel? Unless the maid threw it
away, I can't really see anyone keeping a strop for
themself, it would only be useful to guys like us.
Besides they probably didn't even know what it
was.... perhaps a weird looking belt or something.
I wish you luck.

I'm actually using a leather belt that I've never worn (it's too wide for all of my belt-loops). It was probably at least 50EUR but since I can't use it as a belt and the leather's really nice, why not. It's actually really giving me a nice comfortable shaving edge

Well I heard from the hotel and after much searching they found nothing. So I guess someone decided the strop would be good for something I guess I'll have to order another one from Tony.

Depends on where they emigrated from. I'm originally from the Balkans and the only SR-user I know of down there is Nenad. I started using a straight only after living in North America for a bit more than 11 years lol.
