I say go for it and just shave with the straight. You'll do fine.

Thanked: 0JL, you didn't invest all that time and energy into learning to use a straight to wimp out on your first real test. Use the straight and enjoy the day. (BTW, I'll be married 32 years on May 25th and I hope you enjoy the next 32 years as much as I've enjoyed the last 32 years). Kindest regards,

- You aren't a 2 cent whore for shaving with a DE
- We never advise anyone to shave with a straight if they are in a hurry
- Why would you shave with a straight if it isn't going to be pleasant and relaxing, why taint all those great shaves with one stressed out straight shave ... just so you can say you did it?
- If you think your going to nick yourself, you will. End of discussion
- Shave with a DE and relax about it. You'll nick yourself with the DE and then it won't be the straights fault.
- Your getting married, you might as well learn to start compromising now, you've got a few decades of it ahead of you.

JL,
Congratulations on your upcoming marrage. As far as shaving
goes. Wait until the big day and then decide. You won't be
cheating if you opt for the DE, and you won't cut yourself
either.
If I'm not mistaken Wal-Mart carries the Pinaud liquid styptic.
Regardless of the method you use to shave, try and relax and
take your old sweet time.
Best of Luck

Extra prep time and shave time should take care of all your problems I should think.

Not really sure, I just saw where RobertLampo
mentioned it, and said that Classic carries
it. To be honest, I haven't had to use
a styptic pencil since I gave up the DE.
I suppose that the liquid might not leave
the white residue on your face....
