    Exclamation My Own Giveaway

Now that the Great Straight Razor Giveaway is over, I have my own take on the matter. First, congratulations to all the winners. It is my hope that you become active participants in the forum. You don't need to be an expert or even slightly knowledgeable to come out and play. It is the interaction between everyone that makes this spot a worthwhile daily visit. I hope y'all just don't take your razor and run. I'm sure everyone here would like to get to know you.

That being said... I am going to give away a razor, myself. It has yet to be made. I will use a blade from days past. I will pick a nice one. Probably a WB or a Wostenholm. Then I will put a set of my lined scales on it to give to the winner.

Here are MY rules. You must have at least 400 posts at the time of the drawing to win. It is my way of thanking the people who are the contributors to this site. I may have to wait 'til I'm in the new house to make the scales, so it could mean July before the shop is ready for me to work in. But that will give some of you guys enough time to pony up 400 posts.

You also must register on this thread. That cannot be done until you have 400 posts. I will entertain ideas for the combination of materials on the scales. You know... wood/wood wood/ivory ivory/buffalo horn... what colors... yada. That also must be on this thread to be considered. It's the only way my "old heimer" ass can keep track of it.

As I work on it, I will post pics. Once it is done, I will post that too. Then everyone's name will go into the hat. Get to posting... Can I enter?

    Bill,

Great idea! I wanted to enter the previous give away, but felt I wasn't "newbie" enough, even though I'm far from a true honemeister!

Count me in, and we can discuss the scales later!

    Default 400 Posts!

Well, don’t I feel excluded. While I have been a registered user to this site since November and have tried, in my own way, to contribute, I have nowhere near 400 posts.

I cannot compete with those who posted 100 times before they even had their first straight shave.

You would have me become a blabbermouth simply to qualify for your contest.

Well sir, I am not a blabbermouth. I may not win one of your razors but I do have my pride.

    Your humble and laconic servant,

    LG Roy

Man...buggered on both of the giveaways...didn't win the newbie drawing and I'm sure not up to 400 posts yet. Probably just as well though; judging from all of the pics that I've seen of Bill's customs, I'd be too afraid of using it in fear of messing it up. I'll probably still be ordering on of Bill's Entry Level Razors when the time is right...meaning when my wife lets me.

Damn, I guess that if I'm going to hit 400 in the next couple of months I'm going to have to start typing more and thinking less...

    Bill,

Scale material. Curly maple. That suff is beautiful.
It's what make a flintlock rifle so beautiful.

    Just my 2 cents.
