Default Since Truefitt won't respond to email requests for samples . . .

Unlike, Trumpers, Truefitt won't respond to email requests for samples; I suggest we start an email/mail/phone campaign to show them the error of their ways.

Several members have written requesting samples; these requests have been ignored and these members are now stating that they won't do business with Truefitt now.

Would everyone who feels the same way send emails to Truefitt info@truefittandhill.com explaining that their unwillingness to accomodate requests for samples is costing them business. Perhaps they will respond more favorably.

I believe it would be very effective if someone could get the main London number and some members took the effort to call there directly.

I would love to experience their stuff, but not a $22 per experiment.

    Thanks,

    Tom

Tom, if you want to try their stuff so much, just e-mail Brittney Jansen, their manager of customer relations: brittney.jansen@truefittandhill.com. She's great.

I recently requested samples and received them promptly and with a nice note from her. Take it easy on the e-mail campaign. It really won't change anything.

On the flipside, I requested samples from Trumper and received neither a reply nor samples. As noted, my experience with T&H was the exact opposite.

Additionally, it helps to mention that the company you're contacting has come to your attention as a maker of products that are among the finest available for gentlemen and/or enthusiasts of traditional shaving methods. Also mention that samples will make your next purchasing decision that much easier.

Do you realize how many samples these companies must send out each day???

People, samples aren't a god-given right! They're a courtesy provided by these companies. Just think, they're paying international shipping to send you a sample and you complain when they choose not to? The customer may be the lifeblood of these companies, but that doesn't give us the right to bleed them dry on their products via requesting samples.

You are the first person I have ever heard of since T&H unofficially stopped sending out samples to get any...so that particular company doesnt send out many samples at all. I am assuming if too many people start contacting Ms. Janson, her generosity will cease as well, especially if they are overseas.

However, I agree that an email campaigne probably wont change anything...

I'm afraid you guys have your companies mixed up. It's Taylors of Old Bond Street that no longer wishes to send samples. Taylors will, however, send you a catalog -- postage paid from England, nonetheless.

If you're curious about how a particular shaving cream, soap, or other related product performs, consider paying a visit to www.shavemyface.com, where we routinely discuss the hell out of these items.

As an alternative, let's start some talks here about the products. Reviews are always nice.

As mgraepel points out, no one is entitled to samples. They're a convenience for prospective buyers, but they also are a huge marketing expense for the company. Preparing, labeling, packaging, and addressing bundles of samples is a drain on manpower -- and labor costs to do those things too. Then there's paying for postage to send out samples.

Let's face it: If every man who got a sample bought a product, then samples would be everywhere. But that's just not the case.

    Bingo.

And Tom, if you continue to have problems reaching T&H for samples, I'll gladly send you an untouched sample of their Spanish Leather cologne. I got one from T&H but received another from an order I placed with on-the-fly.com, so I do have one I can spare. I'll send it to you, no strings attached. Let me know.

It is not a right to recieve samples. It's simply good buisiness for an expensive company to do so. Like someone else said I'm willing to pay for an experiment....but not 25 euro's PER experiment.

Trumpers on the other hand responded to my request for samples within the hour and made sure I recieved them within a week.

A company that's willing to go out on a limb like that to proove themselves is safe within my world.
