I voted 100 out of partly selfish reasons, and partly because I never liked judging a memebrs contributions by the number of posts they make. an old fitness forum i used to frequent had a term of "post whore" for people who wer trying to wrack up their post count to gain respect. (not accusing anyone here of post whoring) I do not think post count alone is really a good indicator of commitment or participation. some people post about anything and everything, some post a few thoughtful posts. Some people are active on a board and rack up posts slowly, while others may plunge in and rack up several hundred posts in a matter of weeks without really offering much.

i know I have personaly been coming to this forum just about everyday for more than 4 months and only posted a little over 100 posts. Most of my posts are still questions or minor observations as I do not yet consider myself well trained enough to offer a lot of advise and do not want to clutter a thread about a serious question with noise.

If you look at the post count of some of the people we consider gurus here that have been posting over a year, you will notice that there are some here that have joined in the last few months that have post counts that exceed that. I dont think we would really claim that the new people contribute more than the old people.
I guess my question would be what criteria are you looking for bill? are you looking for commitment to SR shaving? to SRP in general? or contributions to SRP?

I'd say if you are looking for anyone in those first 2 categories it would be a combination of how long they have been a member and how many posts they have made. If you want to judge it on contributions that would limit the field a lot more.

i understand your distaste for what happened to the razor you so generously gave away in the giveaway. but we had dozens of people enter that that only signed up to SRP becuase of the giveaway and never came back after.

If that is what you are trying to avoid, i would suggest looking for members that joined before a certain date and are still active.
