Thread: What would you do?

Personally, I don't think I would have even bothered letting the person know, but that's just me. I might have made an offer though with a much much lower price to see if he really was motivated to sell it. If the guy accepted the offer great, if not, it's no skin off my cheek and no money out of my wallet.

I agree it's best to stay away from this sort of situation. I'm an expert in a very narrow slice of the bamboo fly rod field, and have written a definitive book on the subject. For a few years I would write people who mis-advertised or misrepresented certain cane rods. It never went well. High resentment and general denial. At this point I stay away from them all, unless someone comes to me directly with a question.
