But I guess that's just symantics. 2000 is a whopping number of posts, no matter how you look at it.
Could you ever consider a guy who posts only twice a day a blabbermouth? Not on a board this size. Yet, he'll make 2000 in under 3 years.

So, 2000 can be a threshold to qualify (for now), but only the posts per day reveal who the real blabbermouths are.

Ya, but say someone puts in 2000 posts...and then takes off a year...and comes back...they should keep their blabbermouth status for contributing 2000 posts to the forum...sort of like when someone used to fly one million miles they would have platinum status with the airline for life...even if they didnt fly for the next 5 years. I mean people can come up with other little fun things, but I think once a blabbermouth always a blabbermouth, after contributing 2000 posts it doesnt matter how long you disapear for you still spent the time to give 2000 posts. maybe at 4000 posts they can get a second blabbermouth and then at 6000 posts they can get some other thing. But blabbermouth was sort of just a joke in the beginning, I just like the fact that its a little thank you from the forums to all the members in recognition for giving the time an energy it must take to contribute the time.

Personally, no, and your point is valid - it's not impossible that everyone ends up a blabbermouth eventually with a static cutoff. (in fact, I think I've doubled my three month total in this one thread! )

I just wonder whether we're talking about two separate things. Some of us (me included) think of it as a large rate of posts, whereas others clearly think of it as a large number of posts. They aren't necessarily the same thing, as you point out, Joe. I think we'll just go round in circles until a definition is made, or until we come up with two separate names.

Oh My....I really have created a monster...

All I wanted to point out is that there are some who have posted quite a bit and in general this means contribution.

As for cut offs and status I guess +3000 posts = uber mouth

LOL!! D'oh!! I'm officially going to shut up now (I tend to get a bit obsessive about data and measurement - pathetic, no?).

Perfectly understandable. But in this case this is a joke title. Just because I've got 2000 and change posts doesn't mean I know more (or even 30% as much for that matter) as Bill who has 1000+. I just thought we were spending too much time and energy nitpicking the details of a joke title.

Josh, even 3000 isn't that impressive compared to some larger forums that have been around for a while. I just try to help/get help/satisfy curiosity where I can. Maybe I should spend more time working on my projects now that I have the wood, the extra sand-paper, the brass and everything else I need to fully restore my project pieces.
