    Josh,

I do not qualify due to lack of enough entries so I feel free to give my opinion.

First: I think it is a very generous offer!
2nd: I think that most members who qualify do have a lot of equipment anyway, so why would you send so much stuff to one person who'll probably have no need for it?

    Just my 2 cents' worth.

Any member can be nominated by a qualifying senior member who feels that the nominee has, or will be an asset to the community. It can be someone with a large interest who asks many questions and does what they can to enhance the SRP community atmosephere who has not been here very long. I wanted to give someone who deserves it a solid start at shaving, even if they already have one or two old ebay shavers, I wanted to give them everything they would need to dive in because someone else at SRP felt that they are a promising member of SRP, or already a valuable member who might not have all the equipment due to financial matters, or other commitments, etc. I do not want to split this stuff up, that is done on enough other giveaways, and still leaves certain things to be purchased. If the member who wins already has some of these things that they do not need, they will hopefully pass these on to another deserving member who they choese. I trust that this will work well.

    Wow, that's quite the lottery.

As I read through the list, though, I was thinking about the exact same things Kees mentioned in his post.

I don't think there's anything wrong with a senior member winning your contest. You mentioned that you want to reward whoever the lucky person turns out to be for being a valuable member of the community. That's cool.

But still, what a windfall! Even if a brand spankin' new straight razor shaver were to win that list of items, it'd be more than a running start. It'd be like being dropped off at the finish line! And if a really senior member won? Someone who knows how to hone and already owns the necessary equipment and a extensive collection of expensive razors?

I don't know. I agree that it should be divided -- at least a bit.

I mean, what if Santa Claus decided to deliver like, every one of his three billion presents to one lucky little kid to cut down on delivery timeframes, hoping that the rest of them would content in the recipient's joy? I just don't think it'd jive!

    Heh.

    Josh,

This got me confused: I was under the impression that the nominee needed at least 400 posts and/or be a senior member. Apparently this describes the nomineur. I'm not sure when my 1st post was, maybe just about 6 months ago. So I might be nominated!!.

So I do not qualify as a nomineur, so I'll watch the goings-on with interest. Or is it going-ons? I'll have to check that.

Can I even nominate someone? I guess not huh? That's ok. The person who recieves this stuff will be a very lucky bird, that's for sure.

It's all high quality stuff. I've sampled the soaps and they're amazing. The razors will be very good and I'm sure that counts for the brush and Tony's strop as well.

Any SRP member can be nominated. The member who is nominating another SRP member must be a member themselves for 6 or more months and have over 400 posts, or have a total post count of 1000. So kees, you could be nominated with any post count, but you must meet one of the two criterea in order to nominate someone else.

    Does that make sense??

Why do I get the feeling Josh is going to end up winning this?
