Thanks to Nelson and mike for getting my greave and W&B in working order!

Sounds like a good time. Sorry I could not make it but I was reminded on Saturday that it was my sister B'day and I had to be home. I will be at the next.

Well the first Long Island/NYC/NJ meet up was held Yesterday, Sunday Nov 10, 2013 and was a great success. A good time was had by all. Razors were sold, traded and honed.
Free advise and instruction flowed like the Colorado Rapids.
In attendance were the following SRP members: svcarmia(host), anthogia, airportcopper, joelowerr, mjsorkin, gc7, bill3152, luis, andrevs20 and bayamontate.
I want to give a special thanks to bayamontate (Nelson) for sharing his vast knowledge of jnats as well as honing. He patiently answered our questions and backed it up with demonstrations. He also offered free honing to all. Another special thank you to mjsorkin (Michael) for his help in demonstrating proper honing technique using synthetic stones.
Thank you to gc7 (Jeoffrey) for personally roasting, grinding and brewing up pots and pots of fresh coffee. What a treat that was. Had 4 cups myself.
A thank you to anthogia for bringing enough bagels & cream cheese to feed the 3rd division.
A thank you to joelowett for bringing a delicious Panetone. It was like Christmas in November. Precious
A thank you to mvcrash (Jeff) for his advise. The success of the meet up is due in part to his guidance and input.
And a thank you to all who attended. No meet up can succeed with out the participation of its members. Thanks for coming.

oops, I forgot to mention that we gave a special "thanks for coming" gift to the member who traveled the furthest distance to get to the meet up.
The gift was a bottle of Balvenie 12 Year Double Wood Single Malt Scotch. Prize was won by andrevs20 having traveled 60 miles to the meet up.
Second winner was gc7 (Geoffrey) winning a 40x22mm loup with an led light. Same as used by Glen and bayamontate. Very useful to check your edge as you hone.
Pic to follow.Last edited by svcaramia; 11-11-2013 at 03:30 PM.

yes, of course. From left to right
anthogia, airportcopper, gc7, joelowett, bayamontate, andrevs20, bill3152, luis mjsorkin and svcaramia (behind the camera)
Not sure if anyone will notice but to the left of the screen is a chocolate Bavarian cream doughnut. A personal favorite of bayamantate. He was so focused he did not even look at it for almost 4 hours. Who can resist a doughnut that long? Amazing!
