If I recall correctly, that was a wedgy grind. I have done a few myself that required a ton more time than Andrew was able to devote to yours.
I have honed and thought I had it and then had to hone it again and again to get one tuned in so to speak. It would take me a substantial amount of time to get one to where I was happy with it. Could be yours is one of those )
Maybe we need another meet up

Okay. I do remember a discussion about wedges and the differences in honing them compared to hollows. That will be something to look into further, as I seem to prefer the wedges to the hollows right now. If it continues to be awkward, I'll just shelve it until I can work on it myself. I have other blades that can be used.

I went there . . . not much to see, though there was one vendor in the barn with about a dozen or more blades. Not willing to move on his pricing at all, and nothing struck my fancy as a result. He did have a Boker King Cutter that did not look like needing too much work, but he wanted $130.00 for it. No thanks.
They are having an Antiques Sale in two weekends . . . worth the trip?
