I will check the conference schedule to figure out what day works best. It will have to be in the evening and most likely the evening of Saturday the 21st after 6PM would work best.

Of course, I have to clear this with my wife. She will be presenting a poster at the conference and I desperately will be trying to find potential customers to allow me to start up my own company so that I can get away from my current job. Any kind of mini meet will have to be secondary to my primary purpose for being there.

I only declared this because I will need to be occupied with the conference each day until 8pm except for Saturday when it ends at 6PM. If someone cannot make Saturday evening but might be free any evening after 8Pm from Wednesday to Friday, I would be happy to meet you--again as long as it is OK with my very understanding wife! We might not break out many hones, but a beer or three would be fine! Then again, if you can bring hones please do!

I've never honed in a bar but would be happy to give it a go! Randy, how would you feel about attending a stem cell conference?

I would be in , but I don't return from Japan until early July . Hoping to buy a small natural stone before I leave . Found a knife shop (total old school and they
make all kinds of knives for cooking ) that has a huge room full of natural stones....Any advice will be terrific .

    Cheers,

Wish I was in van that weekend, but already committed to a charity tourney with the fire dept in the okanagan. Would have been nice to learn a few things.

My advice would be to post a stand alone thread to ask that question. Chances are more members will see it. Perhaps take some cell phone photos of the vendor's stock of rocks, any kanji stamped on same. Might just come away with something really cool.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Sigh...you had to pick the most busy week/weekend for me in June! There is a group of us that get together every few months for a meetup in the Vancouver area and we postponed for that weekend as a couple of us (myself included were super busy.) The only day I could potentially make it would be Saturday evening. But I can't guarantee it as we have a large family gathering happening that day. Keep us posted if Saturday evening works for you and then personally I can try to make it. But I can't guarantee it, unfortunately.

Sorry, I'll see if the other 4000 attendees of the conference would be willing to reschedule!

I'm still guessing that Saturday after 6pm will work best, but I might be able to do Sunday morning or Wednesday through Friday after 8pm for something even more impromptu.

Holy smokes! 4000 Attendees...that is some conference! My friend Cobre I believe has exchanged info with you. I will stay in touch with Cobre (Carlos) and I will try to make it.

Let's see, first I have to finish painting the deck then I have to paint the house, then............
