Thanked: 2591Guys I am probably not going to make it tomorrow. I am coming down with a cold, unless it is only a runny nose I'll be staying home.

Thanked: 3795Dang.
Meeting you was the initial impetus for arranging this.
(No guilt trip intended.)
If you are on the cusp about coming, I could pass out surgical masks for everyone!
Don't feel any obligation to come if you're not up to it. We'll just have to do a repeat again some time later.

Thanks All!!
A great time was had by all! More hones than paving blocks in old town. Very nice hospitality form Ron and his wife and cat! Snacks provided helped me at least and some of the others.
A few brave souls attended:
Ron...Utopian
Randy...Padre
Randy...Randydance062449
Rodb...Rod Bell
Dave W...rolodave
Mike...MNWetShaver
Richard...Geezer
Gary from EauClaire
I missed the name of one quiet young man, I apologize!
Simple essentials of honing and a few side trips to other questions.
I would like more get-togethers in the St Paul area. An easy one hour drive for me.
Thanks Ron!!!!!!!!

Thanked: 2209Just came home.
Thanks Ron & Sybil for your hospitality! It is very good of you to open up your home to a bunch of strangers.
Ron, you have the best man honing cave that I could imagine. I am impressed and also know that you definitely have more hones than I do! and definitely more and much nicer strops.
Two new guys were there today...MNwetshaver ( Mike) and Derek. I will be seeing Derek again tomorrow afternoon with RodB and another new guy named Seth.
Derek brought along his new razor which unfortunately was merely a RSO. The upside for him was that he received a heck of a good intro to razor, hones and strops.
Since Mike was from Northern Minnesota we worked on 3 of his razors. I think 2 of them are now at the 8K stage and ready for a test shave. We also lapped a natural Coticule for him to learn to use as a finisher.
It was good seeing all the other guys again, we don't get together as much as we should.
I hope RodB sends me a link to the Ebay vendor with the finishing hone he showed me. I want to get one.
Rolodave....here is a link to the last Kenosha, Wi Razor Meet
http://straightrazorpalace.com/get-t...up-please.html it was 4 years ago!
All in all, this was a very good Razor Meet.

Thanked: 2It was a great day! Thanks to all for sharing in it. But a special thanks to Ron and Sybil. You made the day so easy. Its amazing to me that we're able to deduce an improvement on an edge under magnification, but some of us can't read the No Parking sign in front. HaHa. You're welcome, city of Rochester.
All in all, it was a fantastic experience and I got through my checklist of things to learn. Thanks for all the help, guys! I hope to see you again soon.
