Thanked: 3795I would like to thank everyone who came yesterday. It was a great excuse to finally clear enough floor space in our house for visitors! Only Randy knows what the condition of our living room was before yesterday and even he had not been upstairs before! The honing station was the only part of the house that had already organized
Geezer has already listed everyone who came, except for Derek, whose name he did not remember.
I'm always glad when beginners (Mike and Derek this time) come to these things as they certainly benefit a lot from them. That is as long as they can handle the sensory overload. As usual, I enjoy listening to Randy take them under wing and perfectly clearly explain everything they need to know to learn how to hone. I consider Randy to be a true gift to, what Lynn calls, "this sport."
Geezer spent time showing mainly Rolodave how to restore etching. I'm sorry I missed that and will have a arrange an opportunity to see that myself some time.
Rolodave, thank you for the horribly awfully terribly fattening delicious Danish Kringle. This weekend has not been good for my attempt at losing a lot of surplus weight. Thank you also for bringing the extra table and chairs. I appreciate the help you have offered and will try to take advantage of it.
Rodb thanks for showing me your hone. Like Randy, I'd like to find out the vendor, though given it's been three years since you got it I'm not sure how great the odds are. It would be a nice addition to my honing lair!
Padre, you will always remain in my memory as the guy smart enough to come to a meet-up with a list of questions. Also, I'm glad you brought an example of your woodworking skills and hope to spend some time making scales with you some time this summer.
Gary is not a member here (yet) but maybe that will change soon. I really appreciate the gift of the razor rack. I suspect it will work better than my styrofoam tube racks and it certainly looks a lot better!
I'd certainly like to thank my wife Sybil. She has put up with me for over 15 years so you guys were pretty easy, but it was still an inconvenience for her that she still was willing to tolerate for my sake.
Finally, since the original reason for this meet-up was because of my hoping to meet Mainaman, we're just going to have to do it again some time soon!
