As a fairly new member, I didn't know this section of the forum existed. rolodave informed me of this meeting. If I can get off work, I will be there--I'll let you know.

How do you all travel with your straights?? a roll, in there individual boxes? any direction would be appreciated.

Bring them in any way that is comfortable for you. Cigar boxes with a rubber binder around it work great.

At the meet-up at my place a couple months ago, Padre actually brought a notebook with a list of pre-prepared questions. I have been to quite a few meet-ups but never had encountered that before. I think it is a great idea and highly recommend that you, and anyone else seeking help, consider doing the same thing.

Don't hesitate to ask anything. We are all still learning, and doing this stuff hands on, in person, is the most beneficial. At the last Wisconsin meet-up, I was able to help an attendee with an ongoing problem he was having with his Shapton GlassStones. Reading the forum did not help, but seeing me use them on the non-glass side fixed him right up!

I would send the questions to Randy/Utopian/Geezer ahead of the meet. They can prepare an answer with any needed examples ahead of time.

Bringing questions is a very good idea.

As a new guy this is setting up for a chance of a lifetime. That amount of knowledge and expertise in one spot. Priceless.
I just talked my wife into making homemade bakery for the group. Any requests for favorite flavor of cupcake?

Got the tires rotated, oil changed, hotel booked, yes I am in. And that microscope to see what I have done and how I can improve would definitely be appreciated.

More new guys the better, you may have questions that I havent encountered yet.

Ok, I'll bring my two scopes--a stereomicroscope with a camera hookup to a TV and a regular scope with higher magnification.
