I concur. And 1095 has the distinct benefit that it can be annealed by slow cooling on a firebrick like we did last year, whereas some other steels will still break drill bits after slow cooling.
This will facilitate the heat treatment processes since we don't have to waste time on slow anneals.
    Geezer and bluesman7 like this.

OK guys you asked for it I am coming again so you that you can put up with me again. And yes I will be bringing my illustrious collection for you to drool over, LOL. If things go right I will be bringing my older son Jason. Darren ,my younger son, is the one that I brought last year. Jason, does not shave with a straight but my be talked into making one. Don't know how much hammering that I can do since my Left shoulder is a candidate for total replacement but HEY I am going to try. It will be good to Randy, Ron, Scott, Bruno, Charlie, James, TC, Steve, Dave, Bob, Victor, Tim.

    See you then,
    Bill

Hey guys, I am visiting Charlie today and stopped at the new breakfast diner. It is called "The Star Diner ". The location is kitty corner from McDonalds.
The food is like what we had at "Cliffs". Just your basic American breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns etc.
I am going to try to post some pics next.

You could probably swing them all day without raising a sweat or getting a sore arm
