Thread: After '08 Holidays Western NY Meet

The meet took place on Jan 3 as planned and everything went really well. Those in attendance were ScottS, Cassady, JoeD and myself. Holli4pirating hosted and his friend Lisa came also.
Cassady brought his Sharpton and DMT sharpening stones so everyone got to check them out. Nice setup Cassady. After everyone shared the razors they brought the main focus was honing and the different styles everyone uses. ScottS, Cassady and JoeD shaved with blades that others had and ScottS brought some shave soap for everyone to try if they wanted. (Sorry ScottS I didn't write down what brand/scent it was) The brownies and coffee JoeD brought were greatly appreciated and Holli4pirating kept the leftover brownies, They are probably long gone by now.

All in all it seems like everyone had a good time. Thank for Holli4pirating for hosting. There was a group photo taken. Hopefully Holli4pirating will post it soon. Thanks to everyone who attended. I hope you had as good of a time as JoeD and I did.

It was great fun to meet all of y'all! It was really exciting to play show and tell -- and everyone has some really beautiful razors, not surprisingly. And thanks again to JoeD for letting me play with his Hess -- and for bringing his home-roasted coffee, which went well with CarrieM's amazong brownies! Thanks to Scott for his soap, and Holli for hosting.

I can't wait for the next one. After seeing JoeD's and CarrieM's coticule, I discovered the latest thing I didn't know I needed!

I was happy to see everyone that was able to attend. I was very glad to see that Cassady could make this meet since the whole idea of Western NY meets started with him.

The soap that Scotts brought along was wonderful and his brush was just heaven to make lather with even though I just lathered up in my hand. The last meet we brought Scotts' Waterville to shave ready condition. This time Scotts performed the honing with Holli and I watching and making minor adjustments to his procedure.

I was very happy that Cassady wqas able to bring along his Shaptons. I was impressed with them and believe everyone was curious to see them.

I got the chance to shave with one of Holli's W&Bs 'You lather well, I'll shave well'. I was very impressed with the smoothness of the shave being honed on his Swaty.

I had a great time meeting and sharing with everyone and await the next formal meet. Maybe the next time we can meet in Buffalo and those of us to the east can car pool.
