I have hot and cold water available. I'll have the coffee pot warmed up. We had a pretty nice potluck the last time, although I don't rightly remember actually taking time out for a meal.

I'll light the fires if someone wants me to and answer any questions about steel that come up. I am going to sit and take notes during the honemeister session though. I didn't the last time, there was too much going on and I'm sure I missed something good.

If Terry is coming along, I'll set things up for him to show off his hollow grinding skills.

Bring stuff for show and tell. You can't have enough show and tell. And tailgating, as in bringing stuff for selling or trading, is permitted (even encouraged).

Yes, depending on how many new guys RSVP here, I have maybe 5-10 horsehide strips, D rings and Chicago screws. I also have some punches. I could easily have a "make your own strop" session. I think the cost would be $25.

If some are interested in this, please post here. If there is no interest, which is fine, then I won't have to bring the strips along and can focus on bringing other things.

I told ChrisL that I would make up a bunch of balsa on MDF, or Baltic Birch Ply, or White Oak, or Yellow Poplar (however the spirit moves me and whatever is a current denizen of the scrap pile) for door prizes. Chris will demo CrOx application if the curious can coax him, whereupon the CrOxless can take a bench hone/block home for a razor's finishing ministrations should the spirit move you.

I am working that weekend but would be willing to send fresh roasted coffee.

Would a pound be enough to get y'all through the day?

    Default get together...

Though I'd really like to attend, we must go to a wedding reception around noon. Also, its our 39th wedding anniversary, so we'll be going out to eat that night. Just bad timing, is all.... Please keep me on the list for future events, though!!
