Here's the recommended change: from the south, turn west/left at the southernmost stoplight (look for the Dairy Queen) then follow the frontage road north to the stopsign and turn left/west. From the north, patiently endure the traffic slow down and continue past the northern light where you can't turn anyway and turn right/west by the DQ and back north again on the frontage road. Resume directions as normal for County 24.

I'll keep everyone updated if this changes again. If razors get boring we can all go up to the highway and observe the traffic crews exhibition of the seventeen official ways to hold a shovel without actually using it as a shovel. As always, your tax dollars at work...

    Mike,

You may be unknowingly maligning the holder of the shovel and perhaps the shovel as well. We all know that the shovel is a fine and ancient tool and by that revered antiquity, the holder of the shovel assumes much of that honor. Typically the group we see at all these projects of close and construct is 4 in number: the leaner, the stander, the pointer, and the nodder. You'll notice I name the leaner first. He is the holder of the shovel and is in that primary position, reverently choking the shovel. His minions in the company of the shovel await their turn to move up in the number and finally get to that place where they, too, can choke the shovel, patiently expectant for that time when they can thrill to the touch of the handle of ash .

Only 17 times, you say, I think not: dreams of the sublime are nearly uncountable.

ps, I don't have a cell phone. Wadda I do when I get lost? --Back track, you say? To St. Paul? Hmmm, there's gotta be a shorter way to where the cannon fell, woodncha think?

Default coffee for the get -together

I roasted the coffee last night and sent it to Randy this AM. I expect it should get there on Thursday or Friday.

I included a washed Ethiopian Harrar which should be (if I roasted it correctly) a medium bodied cup with medium to high acidity and fruity/floral notes. For those of you familiar with Harrars this wet processed version is more refined and less "in your face" than what you usually expect.

I had intended to roast a decaf Sumatra to send (to complement the Harrar), but didn't find it until after I roasted this Colombian. The Colombian is medium bodied, medium acidity with "real coffee flavor". The kind of coffee you can drink all day (and still handle sharp objects). This is a water processecd decaf so there are no solvents (like methylene chloride) for those that are concerned about such things.

One could combine these and get an interesting half-caf if desired.

    Just for an update.

Bruce is bringing a cold cuts tray. I may be bringing some chips and such.
If any one wants to bring some other food goodies please do.

Ted has let me know that he is a "maybe" depending on his work schedule. I hope he can make it!

Forgot to mention I only send out whole bean. I hope someone has a grinder. Once ground, it goes stale on a matter of hours. Kind of negates the benefit of fresh roasting.

Default I am so p*ssed right now

I'm not going to be able to come on Saturday.

Since Randy contacted me to set a day for the meet-up, the only factor I took into consideration was what day my in-laws and I were going to the Minneapolis to pick up my sister in law to move her back down to Iowa to move into our house. Once it was made clear there was no way she would be moving on Saturday, I agreed that Saturday worked for the meet-up. From that day on, I have been reminding everyone that we can do it ANY DAY BUT SATURDAY. So of course, now, we're moving her on Saturday.

I am so p*ssed off about this but I know better than to fight with in-laws. Especially if you win, you lose.

I'm sorry guys, but I won't be able to be there.

There is a possibility that I can come for the honing section from noon to 2 and then dash off again. I won't know if that will be possible until much closer to Saturday.

Just say you're going to get a cup of coffee.

Maybe if you bring a thermos, those at the gathering will brew a fresh pot with which to fill it. You can bring some back to your family.
