Thanked: 5Thanks for an enjoyable event. Unfortunately I wasn't able to stay until the end, but it was a good opportunity to meet people and pick up some useful tips (as well as some nice soaps &c.).

great event, really enjoyed it and meeting everyone who i might add were all gentlemen. i also learned that honing is one thing, but choosing the right stone is an entirely different thing. those that missed out wait till you see stone city.

finally got home!
It was a real pleasure being there
I started the meet by getting a Neil Miller strop i had Stubear bring for me
And i won a NOS wicawa razor and an experimental foam cusion nylon strop witch has another unexpectd benefit
Ive had almost no time to try any of this but i hope tomorrow
Sunday morning started with packing the rest of our stuff and a quick breakfeast.
after that we went to Edgeware station (wich was closed for maintenance) to catch the subway to the Stanstead express.
10.00 Our perfect travel plan resulted in missing the bag drop by five minutes so we were denied admission
10.15 After a fee we was rebooked to another airport
Stanstead is boooooring(as most airports you wait at)
18.35 were finally on the way to norway with just a wague idea of how to get home from there
time +1 from here
This is where i tested the Foam Cusion strop for its other use.
Its an exsellent travel pillow
21.45 Arrived at Rygge etc catch a cab to the ferry
22.30 On the way into the ferry we meet a nice guy who offer to give us a lift to a express bus stop
00.15 on the bus for 30 minute and get a cab to go to Torp Airport where we left the car
02.10 im home unpacking the most important stuff
02.30 checking the forum for updates
If you read all this, you must be getting sleepy....
Oh and yes i will go again when i get the chance

Thanked: 202Sad to hear that. That is typical. Perhaps next time you need to park the Bismarck near your home and RAF will give you free flight.

Just a quick note to say it was really great to meet you all and thanks for attending!
Thanks to D.R. Harris for hosting the event and their wonderful hospitality, thanks to Birnando, Scipio, MODINE, adrspach, Markinlondon, Juan from DOVO and D.R. Harris for their generosity with the giveaway, they were all awesome prizes! If I missed anyone here I apologise, but hopefully I got everyone!
I've got some pictures which I'll be posting in the next day or so and if anyone else has pictures could they please post them here as well?
Thanks again guys, it was really great to meet you all and I'm looking forward to the next one!

fantastic shave
Hello Stuart,
Thank you for taking care of my razor and giving it the “Stubear” honing treatment at the event on Saturday, I had a fantastic shave with it this morning.
I am looking forward to the next event.

Glad you liked it..!
Those J-Nat edges are something special I must admit, that stone puts a killer edge on a razor. Definately one of my favourite stones!
I had a lot of fun yesterday playing with the Y/G Escher that Birnando lent me as well, that puts a wicked edge on a blade..! If you see this Birnando, thank you a thousand times, that is one great stone! As I suspected, I am now going to have to give the bank account a hammering and get one myself... Hehe!
I'll keep everyone posted about the next meet up, hopefully should be early next year!
