Thanked: 0Phil, I've been enjoying your soaps as well. I've been interspersing them with a couple of new soaps I picked up based on meetup recommendations, and I like them so far. Then again, I'm still figuring out what "right" feels like.
Thank you to everyone who took pity on us newbies and helpd us out. Again, thank you very much for the strop, it's gotten me right into shaving.
I've been enjoying my experience so far. It's getting better every time, but it's still difficult. I haven't been cutting myself as much as I figured I would. The ritual of it all is definitely my favorite part at this point, and it's a nice bit of stress relief in my day, especially with finals and paper deadlines looming.
I apologize for my recent absence from the board. After the meetup, I promptly got sick. Student health is refusing to tell me anything other than "rest and drink plenty of fluids." So, this is the first I've been back to a computer since then. Hope I didn't get anyone else sick.

Thanked: 3795Future lawyer got sick after leaving my house?
That's not good.
Have you demanded a diagnosis from Student Death? Can you see your records? After what my wife experienced with them and what I've heard from other physicians, I wouldn't trust them with a band-aid.
I'm still in Iowa for another week, as I delayed my departure for two weeks, and I intend to get you your razor back to you before I leave. I don't think we'll be going out for that beer though. I hope you feel better soon.
Regarding Nosewarmer's soaps, I'm sorry to say I haven't gotten around to trying them yet.

Thanked: 0I'll be around, feel free to play around with it for as long as you'd like.
The sick part was happening anyway, and it probably had plenty to do with my various airsofting activities afterwards. Romping around in the woods is probably not the best thing to do with a cough and fever. I've given up on student death, but had to go there to get a referral to the hospital to see a specialist, as the earliest appointment without that would have been the end of december (and that was mid-november). They refused to give me the referral and were generally useless. They did give me a prescription for an industrial-strength cough suppressant, though, so that counts for something. It definitely made all of the Top Gear I watched much more entertaining. I'll just see my doctor once I'm in Des Moines for the holidays. He'll have it sorted out in a jiffy.

For what it's worth I thought I'd drop a post in here to say I'd be interested if there's a get together late spring, or later this year. I'm moving into the Sioux City area, and my wife's expecting in April, so too busy for anything soon, but wanted to get on board.
