Thanked: 13245What a great time
Gerrit and Wanda firstly Thank You for inviting me into your home, after I finally got out of Pasco WA. and found you guys I had a great time..
Wanda the food and hospitality was most appreciated Thank You ever so much...
This was a great precursor to the Spokane meet up I can't wait..
It is good to share our ideas on this forum , but nothing compares to sitting down with like minded friends, around a table over good food, good (homemade) drink, and a ton of rocks and razors..
A lot to digest, and I am starting a new experiment this week on that Filarmonica after what we tried just very quickly down there...
Seems like there is just never enough time at the meets to get to everything.. We never even got to some of the hones
We did get to mess around with two of Phil's beautiful Kamisori style customs on Gerrit's new Nakayama and Ohzuku stones..
The Filarmonica #14 Glenn / "Double N" is mentioning was honed using the "One Stone Hone Method" on his Norton 8k first for a one pass shave... Then we tweaked it up later on my PHIG because he was thinking buying one of those, just to test how the edge felt to him on the second pass Kind of a neat test there, to see if he could feel the difference, tons of variables I know but still fun...
I got to shave with that awesome Bob Allman custom of Gerrit's, that was fun too, really nice blade..
Now if we could just get Michael to not talk so much
To many Stones to little time but tons of fun, see you guys again in September...
Some pics

You guys are very welcome. I think I got more from this meet than anyone.
I really like to see my daughter's toys in the background.
I need to make a list for Spokane before I forget:
-Chocolate chop cookies
-Sarsaparilla
-Wife
-Maybe a giveaway brush
-Oh, and razor stuff
This list might need to be expanded. I realized last night after everything I was making lists of stuff I want to work on (and a minor shopping list) I realized that next meet I am taking notes.

I enjoyed cooking for everyone. I like it when people enjoy my food it fuels me to go and explore new recipes. I am glad everyone had a good time and enjoyed everyone's company if for any reason you are heading our way drop us a line I always cook like I am feeding an amy.

Finally home!! Had a great time getting to meet up with everyone and getting some first hand expalantion of tips and tricks that Glen/gssixgun uses for honing and resotre work. It was really nice to meet Glenn (double "N") rgc58 and to see how enthusiastic the newer shavers can be, kind of reminds me more of how I need to be.
I was glad that Gerrit liked my handle. I was looking for something that no one else would have so... I'll get some pics when I get it all epoxied up.
Now I'm pretty stoked up for the Spokane meet. I've got to get my self in gear with some of these personal "even'ts" I have to deal with so that I can free up the time to get back up. I'll let you guys know all that turns out.
Once again a big shout out to Gerrit and his wife for being so generous with their time as well as their home.
Untill next time,
Michael

Thanked: 7Will try to make it! Going to be coming from central Oregon. All depends on how this fire season goes. Im on a 2 hour call back. This means, in short, I cant be more than 2 hours away from redmond Oregon until my crew is done fighting fire for the summer.
If nothing else I once the season is over I can always take a weekend trip to corvallis or portland!
