Thanked: 0Information overload! I learned so much and had a great time. Randy and Ron really know what they are doing on the hone - huge props to them. Great organization (thank you Ben!); great meet-up.

Gentlemen:
The SRP meet was a delight, thanks to Randy and Ron for the invaluable honing lessons, and thanks for Ben for setting up the event. I cannot remember how long it has been since I had such a good time. I know everyone enjoyed it. I'll write a post about the meet in a day or so.
Regards,
Obie

Thanked: 21Well finally got home from the meet about 45 min ago! The last of us left about midnight from the meeting room.
I just want to say thank you to everyone who attended. I know myself and the rest of the newer members have gotten way to much info today to even remember. Randy and Ron Thank you for the honing marathon. And Geezer thanks for the pinning and scale making demos (And the razor).
Thank you to all who brought giveaway items they were appreciated! (and Razorbeam can now keep shaving)
And the first annual Randy and Ron Razor Race was won by.....................Obie.....Twice! It was good for us to see the patience and dedication these honemeister put into their skill. And makes it much more appreciated when they hone for us.
Besides the knowledge (hone side up?), giveaways and sharp razors, we all walked away with a sense of comradery and about 18 new friends.
I absolutely think we should have more of these events perhaps this fall? With a little more time we may be able to come up with a different location to perhaps have a grinding or buffing demo?
Thanks again to all who could attend and sorry for the members unable to make this one you were missed but next time we want to work it out to get you there!

Thanked: 2It was a very enlightening event for me. Thank-you Ben for the work you did setting it up. Thank-you Randy, Ron, and Geezer for your demos, knowledge, and stories.
I’m sorry I had to leave early. I wish I could have stayed longer. You went until midnight? Wow.
I’m very glad Razorbeam can keep shaving.

Gentlemen:
I would have stayed longer, because I was having such a great time, but left at 10:30 p.m. for the long drive ahead of me. At 11:00, however, I found myself at a roadside restaurant with a hearty plate of ham, eggs and hash brown potatoes. And coffee.
I just could not resist closing my evening with a leisurely early breakfast — and I dare say the waitress received the biggest tip she probably had that day, and she deserved it.
And what an evening, thanks especially to my friend Ben, a gentleman, for organizing it.
Regards,
Obie

I'm picturing Obie at the diner devouring his midnight-breakfast and recounting his spoils of the day to the waitress and telling her all of Geezer's hilarious one-liners.
Don't **** off the bow!
