Looks to be a good number so far. I hate to say that I'll have to pass this time around, family will be dragging me away out of the country for most of the month. I hope to be at the 3rd!

So as a side note i was thinking we could do a blind study for the top 10 shaving creams. I posted up a tread. if we did it we would need everyone to be on board and to supply at least one brand of shaving cream to do this. http://straightrazorpalace.com/soaps...-them-all.html here is the thread.

Anyone going who can identify brushes and stones?
At the auction last night I picked up an absolutely filthy brush, a Simpson 7 Pure Badger and Hair boxdowmadd ShopWood (I have no idea what those last two words really are) and three broken stones. The brush is probably white under all the dirt and feels stiffer than my Omega boar. I really doubt it is badger. I'll probably clean it up this weekend and try lathering with it. I paid $2.00 for about five boxes of junk to get the box it was in.
The largest stone might be reddish in colour. It is filthy with oil, but I think it is quite fine grained/smooth, not like a carborundum. The second is about the size and shape of a crooked finger, but almost flat on two sides. It looks as if it may actually be marble. The third is honey blonde and looks as if it may be stoneware pottery, not natural stone. I paid $4.00 a box, times 3 boxes of junk to get these.
Anyway, I'll probably bring them along in the hopes someone might recognize them. (I won't bring the junk )
